Vissi d’Arte: The Great Tribute to Gina Lollobrigida in Battipaglia

From 26 to 28 September 2025, the Town Hall Lounge (Salotto Comunale) of Battipaglia hosted “Vissi d’Arte”: three days dedicated to the life, career, and multi-faceted talent of Gina Lollobrigida — an icon of international cinema and post-war Neorealism.

Organized by the Gina Lollobrigida APS Association (Subiaco, Rome), the event celebrated Lollobrigida not only as a screen diva but as a complete artist: photographer, sculptor, and illustrator. A journey bridging cinema history with photography and technology — and showing how art can connect generations.

The Art of Photography and Imagery Through the Centuries

The exhibition offered a reflection on photography as a medium that has documented history and shaped humanity — from early experiments to modern smartphones. Today image-making is open to everyone and feeds new creative professions: video makers, short-film directors, fashion photographers.

The link between technological change and artistic expression was also the focus of a conversation with tech-savvy young people on the future of creativity and cultural frontiers.

The Exhibition and Unique Memorabilia

At the heart of the three days: a visual-art and historical memorabilia exhibition organized with Archivio Luce of Cinecittà (Rome). Visitors could see up close:

  • Historical photographs from Archivio Luce on the diva’s public and private life
  • Visual artworks, red-chalk (sanguigna) drawings, and sculpture replicas
  • Original awards, stage props, and honors belonging to Gina Lollobrigida

Cinema, Podcasts, and Special Guests

Each evening from 8:30 PM, special screenings of the actress’s filmography — films made more than seventy years ago that still hold their emotional force and relevance.

The days were enriched by Massimiliano Canè, director and creator of Techetechete’ (Rai 1), who presented the tribute podcast:

Gina Lollobrigida remains an example of a resilient, forward-looking woman who set rules and style in a complex era.
